Yeast Starter
1) 1/2 cup of malt extract
2) 1 pint of water
3) Boil 15 minutes
4) Turn off heat, cool in cold sink water (do not refrigerate!)
5)Pou dry yeast into 90'F plain water. In 5 min. stir and pour into 90'F starter solution, Liquid yeast gets poured directly into 90'F starter solution.
6) Stir vigorously to aerate and dissolve
7) Attach air lock or cover loosely,
8) Allow to ferment 12 hrs.
9) After thick head has formed add starter to main batch.
If starter has gone flat, add more extract & wait until fermentation is active.
